At the Communication of Grand Lodge held on Tuesday 7th March, the M.W.Pro Grand Master announced that he would be retiring and that the Grand Master had been pleased to make the following appointments which would come into effect on the Investiture Meeting on Tuesday 13th June 2017.
> To be Pro Grand Master R.W.Bro. Raymond J. Smith
> To be Deputy Grand Master R.W.Bro. John H. Prizeman
> To be Assistant Grand Master R.W.Bro. Stephen Davison
As a consequence of this impending appointment our Provincial Grand Master will be resigning from his Office in Leicestershire and Rutland. Grand Lodge have subsequently announced that R.W.Bro. Steve's successor will be W.Bro. Philip Mann GStwd and he will be installed at the meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge on Tuesday 9th May. As is usual for such Installations, this will take place at 11.00 am after which Provincial Grand Lodge will be called off and lunch taken at 1.00 pm. Provincial Grand Lodge will then be called on again at 3.00 pm and the business thereof transacted as normal.
At the moment the Summons is being prepared, but we await final confirmation from Grand Lodge on details of the Installing team. It is likely that the Summons will be issued in two weeks time, but Brethren are advised to keep an eye on the website for further information.
I am sure that the Brethren will be absolutely overjoyed that R.W.Bro. Steve has been promoted to this high Office and would wish to congratulate him. Likewise his successor, W.Bro Phil, is a very experienced Mason and is currently the Sub-Prior of the Provincial Priory of Leicestershire and Rutland in the Order of the Temple. He will be bringing with him the enthusiasm and fellowship that we prize so highly in the Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Degrees. We offer him our sincere congratulations and support for the next leg of his Masonic journey.
