Provincial Grand Lodge was called off just after 12.00 and the Brethren adjourned to the dining rooms where some 260 sat down to a Festive Board. This was the largest number accommodated in recent years and reflected the popularity of the new Provincial Grand Master and the interest in the Installation.
The Grand Lodge team departed after lunch with thanks from the new PGM and with small gifts of appreciation for their well skilled work in the Lodge. No doubt the Stilton cheese and pork pie will be well enjoyed!
Provincial Grand Lodge was called on again at 3.00 pm and the rest of the normal business of the Annual Meeting was conducted. The PGM paid well deserved tribute to the outgoing Deputy PGM, V.W.Bro Ghanshyam M. Patel, who has played a significant part in the Province for many years and has been a well-liked Deputy for two periods in recent years.
The PGM then appointed and invested his Provincial Officers including W.Bro's. Brian Golland as Senior Warden and Malcolm Carrington as Junior Warden.

In all some 300 Brethren attended the day, either in the morning or in the afternoon or at both sessions. All agreed that the arrangements and ceremonial were to the highest standard and the Province received very many messages of congratulation from Provinces that attended.
